Accessibility statement
This statement covers rlwc.org.uk, including the members’ area, the Academy, the Bible and the installed app.
Using this website
Restoring Lives Worship Center wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website and app. You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen;
- find your way around using only a keyboard, with a visible focus and a “skip to content” link at the top of every page;
- use the site with a screen reader, including the forms, the members’ area and the Bible;
- turn off movement: the site follows your device’s “reduce motion” setting and drops its animation;
- read comfortably, with large type and colours that meet the WCAG contrast guidance;
- use it on a phone, and install it as an app.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and believe the website and members’ area meet it in most places. We know some parts do not fully meet it yet:
- Sermons and live services are shown through YouTube. YouTube provides automatic captions, which can contain mistakes. Some sermons have a written transcript on their page; not all do yet, and we can make one on request.
- The prayer meeting and some classes take place on Zoom, which is run by Zoom and has its own accessibility features, including live captions.
- Giving is completed on Stripe’s secure payment page, which is run by Stripe and follows its own accessibility standards.
- “Directions” links open Google Maps, which is run by Google. Our addresses are always written out in full on the page as well.
- Some PDF documents, such as older course notes, and files uploaded by church staff (worksheets, scans, photos) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Giving statements and certificates can be sent in another format on request.
Asking for something in another format
If you need anything on this website in a different format, such as large print, an accessible PDF, an audio recording, or a transcript of a sermon, write to info@rlwc.org.uk or call 07483 383325. Members can also ask any of the ministers on a Sunday. We will reply within 10 working days and tell you how long it will take.
Reporting a problem
If you find a problem that is not listed here, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please tell the church office at the same address. Say which page it was and what happened, and we will fix it or find another way to get you what you need.
How we look after your information is in our privacy notice.
How we tested this website
This website was last tested on 16 October 2026. The main public pages (home, Visit, What’s on, Sermons, Give, Privacy and this page) and the sign-in page were checked with Google Lighthouse, which runs the axe-core accessibility checks, and by hand with a keyboard and at phone width. The problems found that day (a link without a name, two contact links too small to tap easily, calendar buttons whose spoken name did not match their text, and a menu button too faint on light pages) were fixed the same day, and a “skip to content” link was added. After the fixes, every page tested scored 100 out of 100 in Lighthouse’s accessibility check.
Automated tools cannot catch everything, so we also act on anything people tell us.
This statement was prepared on 16 October 2026.
